About Us

HISTORY - When we began

Women Learning Together began in 2000 with a vision shaped from:

Ephesians 4:11-13

“Discovering, accepting and fulfilling your calling in the body of Christ.”  “Finding your place in God’s Kingdom.”

  • Growing in wholeness through working collectively and learning together

  • To see more women, especially Asian women released to use their God given gifts with confidence in Him.

  • Women discovering, accepting and fulfilling God’s vision for them.

Our emphasis on Ephesians 2:8-10 is vital as God has created each one of us uniquely in His image and likeness to walk in His plan and purpose for us.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”

How we do this

Briefly, at WLT - our aim is to build women’s confidence, skills and knowledge so that they can serve God and ‘Blossom Where He Has Planted Them’. This takes hard work and years to achieve. So you will find that our practice is not necessarily to invite the ‘experts’ in, although on occasion we have done. But we desire to give women a safe environment to have a go at different tasks they feel comfortable with and in doing so gain the courage to step out, either with those tasks or decide to have a go at other tasks. That way building them up and us and learning together, collectively.

We have hosted day events and weekends away for women since 2000.

We are excited to announce our May 2024 day conference online and our October 2024 weekend retreat in person in Hampshire.

Amita

Amita is my name and yet I am known by various other names, known only to those who know me well! Here is me 😊

Born and grew up in Zimbabwe into a fun-loving Gujarati family. Married with a daughter, a son, a son-in-law and a grandson, all interwoven into intricate extended God-given families.

Pioneered a women’s programme of theological study in Zimbabwe. Currently serving as a lay minister at my local church in Wolverhampton and also serving Women Learning Together alongside 12 amazingly gifted women.

God takes each one of us on a journey of faith and mine was through seeking and finding forgiveness in Jesus. To my delight, LOVE eternal, ever-lasting is what I discovered and experienced as God’s basis for the forgiveness. My journey of faith is still unfolding with much joy as I discover the mystery of the God of LOVE who desires the very best for me and mine, even though we sometimes journey reluctantly.

Seeing women grow into ‘who we really are’ is my passion as we nurture our God-given gifts and talents together (with and for each other). We can and are able to walk together to achieve our dreams.

What about you? Are you ready to join us on the journey?
